It is stated in the Supreme People's Procuratorate Work Report that the prosecution help innovation and development with comprehensive judicial protection of intellectual property rights. The Supreme People's Procuratorate and 29 provincial-level procuratorates including Tianjin, Shanxi, Shandong, and Hainan have set up intellectual property prosecution offices to perform criminal, civil, and administrative procuratorial functions as a whole. It also establishes a collaborative protection mechanism with CNIPA and the National Copyright Administration, supervising the handling of major and influential cases. In 2022, 13,000 people were prosecuted for crimes such as infringement of trademark rights, patent rights, copyrights, and trade secrets, an increase of 51.2% over 2018; 937 civil and administrative litigation supervision cases of intellectual property rights were operated, 6.7 times that of 2018.
