Dr. Bo GE is a well-known Chinese patent and trademark attorney as one of pioneers of Chinese Intellectual Property system and a judicial appraiser. He studied civil engineering in Beijing Tsinghua University, received his doctorate in economics in Moscow and has been an associate professor and deputy dean in the People's University of China, he has also been the Deputy Director general of Beijing Municipality Education Office. Dr. Ge participated in the establishment of Chinese intellectual property law system since 1980. He has worked as a senior councilor of WIPO, when Chinese government drafting its first trademark Law, Patent Law and their Implementing Regulations, Dr. Ge acted as coordinator between WIPO and Chinese government. From 1985 to 1989 Dr. Ge was appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of the China Patent Office in charge of legal affairs, international cooperation matters, documentation, publication and automation of the office. Concurrently he was the first President of China Patent Attorneys Assessment Committee.
Before establishing GE CHENG & Co, Dr. Ge was the president of NTD Patent & Trademark Agency Ltd., senior partner of Jeekai & Partners, and there he acquired plenty of experiences in leading a successful IP law firm.
Dr. Ge has written and published a lot of articles and research works concerning intellectual property. He often makes presentations at domestic and international seminars and symposiums.
Dr. Ge actively participates in domestic and international IP activities. He is the Honorable President of FICPI China Section and Advisor of ACPAA. He was the former president of All-China Patent Attorneys Association and vice president of the China Intellectual Property Society. Now he is a member of ACPAA, FICPI, AIPPI, INTA, LES, UIA and a foreign member of CIPA. |
